YAPL: Yet Another Payphone List
What the hell is this?
This is a directory of payphones across the USA. I have always been intrested in pay phones since I was a kid. They were a free ticket to play on the phone without getting yelled out by mom. Sometime around 7th grade I started making lists of pay phones, where they were, and quirks about them. By the time I stopped in High School, I had accumulated quite a list.
Flash forward to College. I stumble across the Payphone Project and the Payphone directory. I spent lots of fun hours finding pay phones around my college and making info about them. However, whenever I attempted to call other payphones, I found that the data was outdated and sometimes quite wrong. That is an issue.
Flash forward to today. The lists have gotten worse and I feel that both sites have become more then a one man operation. Rather then attempt to tell the owners how to run their site, I decided to write my own solution. It combines the features I like of the two projects, sprinkles in some more techie features that I like, and mixes it together with a helping of community participation. What you get is YAPL
OK, how do I help?
Go out in the world and find payphones! Make a note of their phone number, model of payphone, whether they accept incoming calls, and if possible, take a picture! Then add it to the database! It's THAT SIMPLE!

The bug also apparently kept people from creating accounts. This also has been fixed.

There was a bug that prevented people from logging in. I fixed it. Sorry.

I'm slowly working in Google Maps into the site. The first major integration was today. You can now get a map of a payphone with an address (that is correct).

Updated the FAQ and the added a still-in-progress how-to-identify-your-payphone document. Still squashing bugs as well.

General Housekeeping. Got rid of the newsbox on the side and moved the news to the front page, fixed up the 'Related Images' feature, and made the search a lot better.
